My two boys, 9 and 10 years, just had their first exposure to ice skating three months back. They used rented skates, and had a whale of a time, as they already had some prior background with roller blades, so they sort of know the balancing act. Now I’m looking for skates for them, so that they can get comfy in them, as the rented ones caused blisters and quite a bit of pain and discomfort, but we just made do as it wasn’t easy to get a pair that fit perfectly. I’m checking out the Lake Placid Summit ones. Thanks for the great review!

      Hi, Joo and thank you.

Good to hear and thank you for the kind words.

The Lake Placid Summit Boys Ice Skate is a good choice. Both good and designed to be a long-term investment.

From the first article I read, I was totally intrigued by the amount of information on this web site!  I’m at an age where I’m unable to participate in the sports detailed, but I do have a knee injury and your description of a miniscus tear was spot on.  It perfectly described my own injury!

I have grandchildren who would definitely benefit from the ice skates article.  I hadn’t realized how good the pricing was on these skates!  I’ll have to let my daughters know about your web site.

Visiting your sports site was a wonderful experience and I look forward to my next visit!!

    Regards,

I agree with you about the prices. Because the qualities in the skates in much so it is a very good feeling to see the prices so good even so.

Hey SportsSend, I decided to check out your website on ice skates because I have been looking at ice skates for my kid.  As a 46-year-old adult, I’m too chicken now but still fascinated.

The 1st thing that caught my eye was that there are skates specifically for sexes, just like shoes.  The first paragraph told me all I needed was the right pair of skates (if I was a child of course).  So I knew the site would elaborate on that, which is cool.

It is excellent to come to an article which focuses on equipment for kids. Because there are so many sites which have enough material for them.

I look forward to exploring more about ice skating for my kid on your site.

    Thanx Again for Sharing

It is informative although I would like to have seen another one for girls. I like the pros and cons for each skate.

The article states that skates for figure skating are usually for beginners. Are there any options for a young lady who is a more advanced figure skater? I’m sure she would want something that will make more advanced skating easier.

I like that you included a short bio of the companies that make the skates.

      Hi, Chrisleen and thank you.

I can stress that this site is for both genders and it is effortless to be convinced about it when you look to other posts. But when we are talking about three skaters, unfortunately, it will always bee one for another gender vs. two for the different gender.

About skater, for your lady, I would look at Riedell Skates – 119 Emerald. For example is one article on Amazon which goes well in details, you can see it here.

I have three kids – 8y old girl and two boys (6 and 4y old). I see that most of the recommended ice skates are or girls only or boys only. As kids shoe size changes so quickly, I’m looking for something that I can buy for my oldest girl and then pass on to the boys. Is there any gender neutral option out there? My kids are totally beginners, we only go to skate couple of times each year. I bought skates to myself, as my size is not changing and it’s worth it already, even with the small number of uses every year. Rental is a waste of money.

      Hi, Mary and thank you.

Yes, all parents know this problem, and it can be difficult. Specialized in the start when you don´t know if the kids keep their interesting.

But it is not easy to solve except there is a possibility that your boys can use the same, then I mean that the younger can use from his brother. If it is not used many times as you say, the Ice skaters usually look as new.
But having said that it is important never to use too small.

Too, most important in the start, when they find out if they have interesting or not, is that it is comfortable. So you can try if the girls can be used on the boys too with that in mind. But keep in mind that the shoes are focused on one gender, not both.

But you can try to get used ice Skaters. If it not used so many times, it should not be a problem.

      Good luck!

My older daughter just went ice skating for the first time recently with her boyfriend and his family.  These Jackson Ultima Figure ice skates would be perfect for her as she is just a beginer.  She didn’t do too bad for her first time, at least she didn’t fall, she did so much better then I did my first time.

Oo I just love how sleek and slick all of these styles are. While looking at the Best Ice Skates for Girls and Boys, when I first saw the Jackson Ultima Figure Ice Skates I was like, “OH these are my favorite” but then as soon as I scrolled down to see the Lake Placid Summit Boys Ice Skates, even though I am a girl, I immediately thought to myself that those were the pair of ice skates I would most likely chose for myself…. but then, I saw the American Athletic Ice Force Skates with their sneaker like look and appeal, and I knew then that THIS was the one I choose. Winter season is coming soon and with that comes my favorite ice rinks – I love ice skating so I am going to invest in my favorite pair. Can’t wait to look urban cool on the ice this season 🙂
