Features
Here’s what you get from the Oakley Men’s Radar EV Sunglasses:
- O-Matter Frame
The Oakley Men’s Radar EV Shield Sunglasses come with an impact-resistant frame of nylon-infused plastic that’s lightweight, durable, and heat- or cold-resistant. And since it is not a rigid type of plastic, the frame shapes better to the head.
- Unobtanium Nose Pads and Ear Socks
Made of a hydrophilic material that absorbs water and that doesn’t become slippery when wet, the nose pads and ear socks of these sunnies help keep the shades in place as you get hot in the field or on the trail.
- Taller Lens Design
For an extended view, the Oakley Men’s Radar EV Shield Sunglasses come with a taller lens design that improves the upper peripheral vision.
- Enhanced Ventilation System
With the port and channeling at the arms brought forward, the Oakley Men’s Radar EV Shield Sunglasses boast of better ventilation and offers an anti-fog view.
- Maximized Contrast and Enhanced Visibility
With the Prizm lenses technology, which is a product of years of color science research, the lenses are fine-tuned for specific environments. With controlled light transmission and maximized contrast, the Prizm lenses are designed for various sports.
The Prizm Field, for example, enhances the contrast between the ball and the background. It makes the ball stand out from the other colors typically found in a baseball field environment, particularly against the grass, dirt, and the sky. Then there’s the Prizm Road for cyclists that helps them spot subtle changes in road textures. On the other hand, there’s Prizm Trail for trail runners and cyclists that enhances reds and browns whether in the shade or bright light so that they can easily spot sand, rocks, roots, and other transitions.
Meanwhile, Prizm Golf works to improve depth perception for golfers, which are helpful in gauging distance and grass conditions. There are also Prizm lenses for shallow and deep-water watersports, shooting, and everyday use.
- Non-Polarized Iridium Coating
These Oakley Men’s Radar EV Sunglasses are fitted with 100% UV protection lenses that make them especially great as sports sunglasses. They protect your eyes from extensive damage while engaging in outdoor sports. Unprotected eyes are exposed to harmful UVA and UVB rays that can cause cataract formation, macular degeneration, and sunburns on the cornea, among others.
- Prescription-Ready or RX-able lenses
For optimal performance, the lenses of the Oakley Men’s Radar EV Shield Sunglasses can be custom-made to your prescription.
- Carrying Case
These sunnies come with Oakley’s soft vault case.

Comparison
If you are impressed with the Oakley Men’s Radar EV Shield Sunglasses but looking for a more retro-design, then the Oakley Jawbreaker Prizm Sunglasses are worth a look. The plastic frames come in nine color variants to choose from. And with a fast-and-simple Switchlock system, you can also change lenses without breaking a sweat—or a part! Like the product-in-review, this pair comes with Prizm lenses that are sport-specific. And with its High Definition Optics® (HDO®), it provides the wearer razor-sharp vision at every angle and one that’s UV-protected as well.
The Oakley Jawbreaker Prizm Sunglasses also shares the Oakley Men’s Radar EV Shield Sunglasses’ hydrophilic nose pads and ear socks as well as an expanded field of view. All the while, it keeps airflow great, making it anti-fog, too. And if Oakley Men’s Radar EV Shield Sunglasses’ arms interference with your helmet is a problem, then the Oakley Jawbreaker Prizm Sunglasses offers you the perfect solution with its adjustable stem design.
However, if you are looking to the Oakley Jawbreaker Prizm Sunglasses for a more affordable option, then you’d be disappointed to find out that it’s within the same price range as the Oakley Men’s Radar EV Shield Sunglasses.
Final Thoughts
If you’re a serious athlete looking to improve your performance, then the Oakley Men’s Radar EV Shield Sunglasses is a must-have. Its Prizm lenses are a game-changer that remove dull colors and poor color contrast out of the equation when wearing protective shades in the field or on the trail.
Moreover, the lenses are sport-specific, so if flying balls, road texture, or grass condition spells the difference in your performance, then the Oakley Men’s Radar EV Shield Sunglasses is cut out for the job. They’re even Rx-able, fetching you a razor-sharp vision that’s great for upping your hand-eye coordination. Plus, you’ll love that it’s lightweight, durable, and anti-fog.

Hi Noteboom:
I used to LOVE to run when I was younger (I’m not younger anymore LOL)!
I lived in Portland, Oregon USA at the time and I would tackle some of the big hills there. I also ran in organized races and was pretty darn good. I was also very skinny so I didn’t carry a lot of weight.
I wish we had these kinds of great products back then!
These Oakley’s sound awesome! They would have been great for me back then in watching for changes in road texture and especially, wet and slippery spots on the road. I don’t know if you’re familiar with weather in Portland but it rains a lot.
Anyway, thank you for your post.
Hi, Christopher and thank you.
