Best Running Water Bottle Reviews

Below, we have listed our top three picks for the best water bottles for running out there. Keep reading ahead to figure out which one of these is going to be your next running companion.

1. Fuelbelt Enduro Hand-Held Running Water bottle

CHECK PRICE

Trusted and loved for the past 20 years, FuelBelt has delivered nothing less than the best products in hydration. This U.S.-based company continues to find innovative designs to stay at the top of their game.

  • Size

This bottle weighs about 2.24 ounces with the dimensions being 8 x 4 x 3 inches. It is a reasonably sized, BPA-free bottle that can hold around 16 ounces of water. Hence, it is perfect for people who get really thirsty while running.

  • Usage

An easy-to-squeeze bottle, it can squirt out the amount of water you desire to drink. The valve at the top is very simple, with no additional need to pull it out to drink water. Hence, you just need to either suck it or lightly squeeze the bottle; it works both ways.

  • Comfort

The perfect water bottle also has an adjustable strap for the runners’ convenience. The fabric is very soft to avoid any discomfort to the hand. Furthermore, the insulated cover allows the water to remain cool for longer periods, which is ideal for the hot summer days.

It is made from 100% Other Fibres. There are also two zippered pockets for any extra items, such as credit cards or energy packs.

PROS

  • checkHourglass shape means it’s easier to hold
  • checkEasy to carry
  • checkCompact design
  • checkEasy to drink water from while on the move
  • checkMulti-purpose as it comes with storage space as well

2. Fitletic Running Water Bottle Pair

CHECK PRICE

Founded in 2008, Fitletic is a U.S.-based company that promises quality running and fitness gears with an assurance of comfort, style, and safety. The brand is owned by a fitness enthusiast herself, so you can expect only a quality product from this brand.

  • Size

As to why this could be the best running bottle, it comes in three different sizes to hold different amounts of water, including six-, eight-, or 12-ounce bottles. It is particularly targeted towards those who prefer less weight to carry or just take small sips on the go.

  • Usage

It is a BPA-free bottle that has a valve opening. This allows for quick squirts of water while running, making it very convenient to use.

With an updated quick flow race cap, it allows easy drinking with one hand. When you are in the flow of running, it is a struggle to stop and open the bottle to take one sip. Hence, this is highly beneficial.

  • Comfort

The bottle does not include a strap to hold. However, if you own either a Fitletic 12- or 16-ounce hydration belt or a six- or eight-ounce add-on holster, these bottles will easily fit into those. Additionally, the 12-ounce bottle will easily fit into the Fitletic fully loaded belt.

Despite not having a strap, it is comfortable to hold and will not strain the hand because of the small size. However, if you want to use a strap, you need to buy it separately.

PROS

  • checkCost-effective
  • checkTwo bottles for the price of one
  • checkOption to choose from two different colors
  • checkPractical size
  • checkDishwasher safe

CONS

  • Might leak if the lid is not placed properly

3. Nathan SpeedDraw Plus Flask

CHECK PRICE

You can always count on Nathan Sports, a U.S.-based company loved in 45 countries, to offer new designs for athletic gear. Their attention to detail enables you to enjoy your running experience to the fullest.

  • Size

With dimensions 12 x 6 x 4 inches and about 3.4 ounces of weight, this bottle is the biggest bottle on our list. The bottle also offers a larger volume as you can carry 18 ounces of fluid.

  • Usage

The product comes with a race cap to allow easy access to the fluids. This particular valve has no open and close switch. Instead, the bottle is always open, which rids the runners of having to open the bottle while running. Even though the valve is open, it is completely leak-proof unless it is violently shaken.

  • Comfort

Available with an adjustable strap with thumb holes, this allows ease of carrying. One can keep their hand open because it will not affect the way the bottle is being carried. Also, there are reflective trims on the strap, which can be seen in low-light conditions, aiding to the runner’s safety.

There is a spacy zippered pocket that is expandable and allows room to keep a phone, keys, and other essentials you might need during a run. Considering running clothes rarely have pockets, and those that do would weigh down the runner, this feature is a huge plus.

PROS

  • checkLasts for hours due to water quantity
  • checkDouble insulated to keep water cold
  • checkDifferent colors available
  • checkEasy to carry

CONS

  • The bottle can get heavy to carry

Verdict

Keeping all three bottles in mind, it is quite difficult to pick one as they cater to different needs. However, if we had to pick the best running water bottle among the three, it would be Nathan SpeedDraw Plus Flask.

While the other two have their own charms, this one does overshadow its cons with the pros. It is a runner’s dream as it has a large capacity for water and is easy to carry. However, if you don’t like to carry weight during a run, you may choose from the smaller options

  1. That is an excellent idea to have water bottles specially made for runners. I didn’t realize that they did it. I am a walker and because I find a water bottle cumbersome to carry I go without and when I get home an hour later I am so thirsty.

I think that the Fuelbelt Enduro Hand-Held Running Water bottle will work well for me as it is not too big, and can carry enough liquid to keep me hydrated during my walk.

Something that might also work well is two smaller water bottles secured in a belt around the waist, so there would be nothing to hold in the hands. I wonder if anyone has thought of making something like that yet?

  2. I never thought of having a bottle like this. I do go on a run in the morning and just before the sun goes down in the evening. Such bottles like these will be perfect when someone goes running!

I like the Nathan SpeedDraw Plus Flask. It is a nice pocket at the front to store. Something small in when you are on a run, such as your smartphone or some money if you are taking a run in the morning to a store near you.

I haven’t thought about it as I said, but now I’m thinking its a good bottle to have.

Thank you for sharing this and all the best.

  3. I purchased one of these Nathan water bottles like a year ago because I love running and staying hydrated so this makes my running soooo much easier! I have small hands and I was also worried about this thing weighing my hand or arm down, but it is perfectly designed so that you barely notice it there even when it’s full and has your phone in the pocket. Also it is super easy to switch hands.
