  1. Hi, thank you for describing the best way to keep softball gloves safe and durable through oiling them properly and cleaning them as well. I have been led to know that not all of the oils are suitable and also to understand that one should not use artificial heat in drying the gloves but dry air at atmospheric temperature. Thank you, too, for ably pointing out the mistakes to avoid. This can serve as a checklist to confirm any errors. Thank you very much for this review.

  2. Softball is a fun sport, but it’s always a little more fun if you’re using good equipment during the game. I have had my same old glove for many years, and I’m pretty lucky that I can still use it because I have not been good about taking care of it. This is a great reminder to maintain this investment so that it will still be effective on the field! Thank you!!

Yes, it is always more fun when you have good gear when you are having fun in sports. No matter if it is a game or just for fun. But sometimes it is not needed even so.

But using the oil and doing it right help you to enjoy the glove for a long time, so I believe it is worth the time.

Here is a new post about choosing an adult softball glove size. I thought you would like it when I was reading your comment.

  3. Wow, some great tips here on looking after ones softball gloves. Leather always does require a little extra care. I was wondering if one could use dubbin on them? This is the same stuff we rub into horses saddles once a year. Or do you perhaps need a more runny oil for a softball mitt?

Yes, you can use Dubbin. Thank you for that idea.

It was great to see you use it on your saddles. Because when I was on my lovely Icelandic horses, we always used oil. So it was interesting for me to see that it was your first choice for your horse’s saddlers!

Good, remember that we always need to check out how things develop and use what is good for us of the new development but at the same time see what is not good for us in it!

But using the oil and doing it right help you to enjoy the glove for a long time, so I believe it is worth the time.
