  1. Wow.

Whenever I hike or go camping, I never think of a chair…

I usually sit on a rock. I feel like I just discovered fire for the first time haha

Thanks for this article. It was very helpful and will definitely change how I do things in the future.

I think I would go with the smaller, tripod style. I wouldn’t want to add excessive weight or size just for comfort while stopped. But, it would be nice to not sit on a rock or the ground, like I said.

    • Hi, Tyler and thank you.

Thank you for your kind words.

You are not the only one. A lot of people who regularly go in hiking and camping had not heard about it before I told it to them. But all of these people said quickly that this was a fascinating idea.

Probably because it has experience of wet and dirty ground or understands that this adds the possibility to enjoy nature when it rest. In the sense that you can sit on the chair and watch all over. But not just up as in so many cases when you ly on the ground.

  2. I have been considering a backpack chair since I found out that I have osteoarthritis. I thought that I had injured myself with an exercise video but the pain wouldn’t go away so I went to the doctor. It looks like my problem is here to stay so I’m looking for ways to cope. Sitting on the ground is no longer an option for me so I’m looking for a lightweight chair to take with me. I’m glad you mentioned oiling the moving parts. I wouldn’t have known to do that. I see that you also have an article about how to choose a backpack chair so I am going to read that next. Thank you for the information.

  5. It seems like it is always the small things that can make the biggest difference.  I don’t think I would have even thought about the proper way to pack a backpack chair, much less worry about the added weight.

All I would be thinking about is whether or not it is going to be comfortable when I stop to take a break.  But after reading your excellent article, I understand just how important it is to pack it properly so that the overall pack is balanced, like all things should be, and to make sure I am not lugging around an unnecessary weight from a backpack chair that is a few pounds too heavy.

    Keep up the good work

  6. Every month in our church youth group we go for Hiking. This post means a lot to me because all these days we didn’t taken any camping folding chair and many members are requesting for it, recently we decided to take a few and I got helpful insights from your post (as always).

Tips and advise you provided on organizing the backpack is super helpful. The backpack load needs to be only 10% of our weight is an eye-opener for me. I am going to share your post with my team and I believe they will also find great value from your post. I am bookmarking your post for future reference.

How I wish I had found your article sooner when we first started our hiking! This was a highly informative article and I really enjoyed the content and in the manner that you presented.

    Much Success!

Now that you have place the thought in my head having a backpacking chair is now my new must have.
